Spinal Decompression Is For Real

By Dr. Randall Pruitt

Millions of people are searching for answers to their chronic back pain everyday. Spinal Decompression has emerged as a very popular and effective treatment. Spinal Decompression has offered relief to many who had reached the end of their ropes and had tried virtually everything including chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncture, spinal injections and even surgery. As new research emerges, this form of treatment will be considered the gold standard in the treatment of chronic back pain.

Chronic back pain sufferers showed good response to Spinal Decompression in a study published in Pain Practice.

The title of the study was "Treatment of 94 outpatients with chronic discogenic low back pain with the DRX9000: A retrospective chart review" and indicated that patients with an average pain duration of over 10 years reported on average a pain intensity rating of approximately 6.05 on a scale of 0-10.

Once the protocol was completed the average pain scale for the patient group dropped from 6.05 down to 0.89. A very statistically valid finding.

A standard treatment protocol was followed by 4 different clinics across the country.

Once the protocol was completed the average pain scale for the patient group dropped from 6.05 down to 0.89. A very statistically valid finding.

Follow up was performed on average at 31 weeks with 29 of the participants and document an average improvement of 83% as well as a satisfaction rating of 8.55 on a 10 point scale. None of the patients that were followed up with required back surgery.

With ongoing research Spinal Decompression will continue to gain popularity and become the standard of care for chronic back and neck pain. - 15439
